Suffolk County Council has completed a full rollout of LibreOffice 24.8, supported by Collabora Productivity, replacing Microsoft Office for approximately 6,000 employees as part of a broader digital cost-reduction programme. The council estimates annual savings of £480,000 in licensing fees. The move follows a successful 18-month pilot within the council's planning and highways departments, where compatibility with shared DOCX and XLSX files was thoroughly tested.
