The QGIS project has released version 3.38, introducing native support for IFC file overlays within geospatial views, a feature particularly relevant to UK local planning authorities managing digital site submissions. Southwark Council and Bristol City Council are among the early adopters piloting the integration alongside their Planning Data Platform workflows. OSGeo UK has published a guidance note to help authorities configure the new tooling within existing QGIS Server deployments.
