NHS Property Services has launched an internal estates asset management system built on PostgreSQL and PostGIS, replacing a proprietary Esri-based solution across 3,200 properties in England. The new platform, developed with systems integrator Informed Solutions, stores and queries spatial data on building condition, energy performance, and maintenance schedules. The organisation estimates five-year savings of approximately £4.2 million in software licensing.
