The OSGeo project has released PostGIS 3.5, delivering significant query performance improvements for large polygon datasets commonly used in urban planning and land registry applications. New parallel query support for spatial joins is reported to reduce processing time by up to 60 percent on multi-core systems. The release has been welcomed by Ordnance Survey's data engineering team, who use PostGIS extensively in their geospatial data pipeline infrastructure.
