PostGIS 3.5 Released with Major Performance Gains for Large Raster Datasets

/

The OSGeo project has released PostGIS 3.5, delivering significant performance improvements for raster data processing and new support for parallelised spatial joins on large datasets. Benchmarks published by Crunchy Data show query times on national-scale land use datasets reduced by up to 60 percent compared to version 3.4. The release is expected to benefit local authorities and utilities using PostgreSQL-based spatial data warehouses for infrastructure planning and flood risk modelling.
