The London Borough of Hackney has confirmed that Nextcloud Hub has been deployed as a core collaboration and document management platform following the council's multi-year recovery from its 2020 ransomware attack. The council evaluated Microsoft SharePoint Online and Google Workspace before selecting Nextcloud for its data sovereignty advantages and ability to be hosted within UK government-approved infrastructure. Hackney's digital team has published an open case study detailing the migration architecture and lessons learned.
