The Planning Inspectorate in England has launched a pilot open data portal built on GeoServer and PostGIS, making geospatially referenced planning appeal decisions publicly accessible for the first time as machine-readable linked data. The pilot, developed with support from Geovation and MHCLG's digital team, allows local planning authorities and developers to query appeal outcomes by location, inspector, and decision type. A full public release is expected by Q1 2026.
