The Open Source Geospatial Foundation has announced a new working group focused on defining interoperability standards for open source urban digital twin platforms, with founding members including Bentley Systems, the Alan Turing Institute, and the cities of Helsinki and Bristol. The group will produce reference implementations using PostGIS, CityGML, and the open source 3D Tiles specification. Bristol City Council has offered its emerging digital twin pilot as a test environment for the group's initial outputs.
