NHS Shared Business Services is understood to be conducting a formal evaluation of ERPNext, the open source enterprise resource planning platform, as part of a broader programme to reduce dependence on Oracle E-Business Suite ahead of its 2027 end-of-extended-support deadline. The evaluation, confirmed in response to a freedom of information request, covers payroll, procurement, and ledger functions across multiple NHS trusts. Frappe, the company behind ERPNext, has engaged a UK implementation partner to support the technical assessment.
