SEPA and Improvement Service Scotland have jointly released an open source flood risk visualisation tool built on OpenStreetMap and the PostGIS database engine. The tool, developed in partnership with James Hutton Institute, allows council planners to overlay modelled flood extents against planning application boundaries in near real-time. It is now available to all 32 Scottish local authorities through the Spatial Hub Scotland platform.
