OpenStreetMap Data Adopted in Revised National Planning Policy Framework Guidance

The UK Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities has updated its technical guidance to permit the use of OpenStreetMap datasets in supporting documents submitted with planning applications. The change, welcomed by the OSGeo:UK chapter, removes a longstanding barrier for smaller authorities and community groups producing neighbourhood plans. It is expected to reduce reliance on Ordnance Survey licensed data for baseline mapping.
