London Borough of Southwark has gone live with a self-hosted Nextcloud instance replacing Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive for document collaboration across its 4,000-strong workforce. The deployment, managed by open source integrator Proactive IT, also incorporates Collabora Online for office document editing. The council cited data sovereignty concerns alongside cost savings as primary drivers for the transition, with a full review scheduled after 12 months of operation.
