The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has confirmed continued funding for the Planning Data platform, which underpins the national planning.data.gov.uk service using a fully open source stack including PostgreSQL, PostGIS, and Django. The platform now aggregates data from over 300 local planning authorities and is being extended to support the forthcoming digital infrastructure requirements of the Levelling-up and Regeneration Act. The project is maintained by MHCLG's digital team in the open on GitHub.
