Linux Foundation Launches Construction Industry Working Group for Open Data Standards

The Linux Foundation has established a new Construction Technology Working Group, bringing together firms including Skanska, Mace, and software vendor Trimble to develop open data exchange standards for site logistics and supply chain management. The group will build on existing work from the buildingSMART International data dictionary and aims to produce an open specification by mid-2026. UK contractor Laing O'Rourke has joined as a founding member alongside several European counterparts.
