Kent County Council has begun a six-month pilot of Nextcloud Hub as a potential replacement for Microsoft SharePoint within its adult social care directorate, covering approximately 1,200 staff. The trial is being managed by the council's digital transformation unit in partnership with Nextcloud GmbH and UK integrator Collabora Productivity. If successful, the council estimates it could reduce Microsoft 365 licensing expenditure by up to 30 percent across selected service areas.
