The IfcOpenShell open source library has released version 0.8.0, delivering significantly improved support for the IFC 4.3 schema, which extends BIM data standards to roads, railways, and waterways infrastructure. The update is particularly relevant to UK infrastructure projects required to meet ISO 19650 data delivery standards. Arup and Jacobs have both confirmed they are integrating the updated library into internal automation tooling for asset data validation on National Highways framework commissions.
