Apache Flink Powers Real-Time Infrastructure Monitoring at National Highways

/

National Highways has deployed Apache Flink as the stream processing backbone for its strategic road network monitoring platform, replacing a proprietary event-processing system from IBM. The implementation, delivered in partnership with consultancy Kainos, ingests sensor data from over 9,000 roadside monitoring units across England's motorway and major A-road network. The agency says the open source stack has reduced per-event processing latency by 40 percent.
