The Planning Inspectorate has begun a six-month pilot of an open source case management system built on the Apache OFBiz framework, developed in collaboration with MHCLG's digital team. The tool is designed to streamline appeals processing and improve data interoperability with local planning authority systems running the Open Digital Planning project's RIPA platform. Early results suggest a 30 percent reduction in administrative handling time per case.
