The open source BlenderBIM Add-on, developed by the IfcOpenShell community, has achieved official IFC4.3 certification from buildingSMART International, putting it on equal regulatory footing with commercial tools from Autodesk and Bentley. The certification is expected to accelerate adoption among UK contractors required to deliver BIM Level 2 compliant models on public sector projects. Homes England has confirmed it is evaluating BlenderBIM for use in its housing programme delivery teams.
