Speckle, the open source data platform for architecture and engineering, has released version 2.21 featuring a substantially improved IFC connector that enables real-time model synchronisation between Revit, ArchiCAD and FreeCAD environments. The update addresses long-standing geometry fidelity issues flagged by practices including Buro Happold and Arup during beta testing. Speckle's maintainers say the release positions the platform as a credible open alternative to Autodesk's BIM 360 collaboration suite.
