The QGIS project has released version 3.38, introducing significantly improved coordinate reference system handling that benefits UK local planning authorities working with British National Grid data. Several councils, including Leeds City Council and Gloucestershire County Council, have begun migrating from Esri ArcGIS to QGIS following the update, citing reduced licensing costs and improved interoperability with OS MasterMap data.
