QGIS 3.38 Released With Enhanced BIM Data Integration for Planners

The QGIS project has released version 3.38, introducing improved support for IFC file imports and direct linkage with OpenStreetMap building footprint data. The update allows planning departments to overlay BIM model attributes onto georeferenced maps without proprietary middleware. Several UK councils, including Leeds City Council and Bristol City Council, have been cited in the release notes as pilot testers of the new workflow.
