OSGeo:UK has announced a structured free training programme targeting GIS officers in English district and borough councils, covering QGIS, GeoServer and OpenLayers across twelve online modules. The initiative, supported by funding from the Geospatial Commission, responds to sector-wide concern that open source skills gaps are slowing adoption despite strong cost-saving potential. Participants completing all modules will receive a digital credential recognised by the Association for Geographic Information.
