The OpenStreetMap Foundation has announced a new grant programme specifically targeting UK local authorities looking to integrate OSM data into planning and highways management workflows. Councils including Leeds City Council and Bristol City Council have been named as early participants. The programme will fund technical integration work with QGIS and PostGIS, aiming to reduce dependency on proprietary Esri licensing across municipal GIS teams.
