The Welsh Local Government Association has launched a shared digital street gazetteer service built on OpenStreetMap and PostGIS, available to all 22 Welsh unitary authorities. Developed in partnership with Swansea-based consultancy Addresscloud, the platform consolidates address and street data previously managed across incompatible proprietary systems. Early adopters Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire County Councils report a significant reduction in data reconciliation overhead for planning and emergency services.
