The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has begun a six-month pilot of a new OpenPlanningData standard, underpinned by a technology stack comprising PostgreSQL, PostgREST and GDAL, deployed on GOV.UK PaaS. The pilot, involving planning authorities in Bristol, Leeds and Milton Keynes, aims to standardise how local planning application data is published and consumed by PropTech developers and planning inspectors. Full technical documentation has been published on GitHub under an MIT licence.
