The OpenBIM Alliance has submitted a formal response to the Cabinet Office's consultation on construction procurement reform, urging ministers to mandate IFC open standards for all centrally procured building projects over £5 million. The submission argues that continued reliance on Autodesk Revit's proprietary RVT format creates vendor lock-in and undermines the interoperability goals of the UK BIM Framework. The consultation closes at the end of this month.
