The OpenBIM Alliance has announced formal endorsement of IfcOpenShell as the recommended open source toolkit for IFC file processing on publicly funded construction projects across Europe. The decision follows a review commissioned by the UK Building Safety Regulator examining interoperability gaps in current BIM workflows. UK firms including Buro Happold and Atkins have already integrated IfcOpenShell into their digital engineering pipelines.
