Aberdeenshire Council has gone live with a self-hosted Nextcloud Hub instance to replace a patchwork of Microsoft SharePoint Online and legacy on-premises file shares across its planning and roads departments. The deployment, delivered by Scottish open source integrator Synergy Technology, supports around 3,200 users and includes integration with the council's existing LibreOffice rollout. The council estimates annual savings of £140,000 compared with renewing its previous Microsoft 365 licensing tier.
