The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has awarded £2.1 million to a consortium of five English local planning authorities to develop and test open source digital planning tools built on the RIPA platform. Participating councils include Buckinghamshire, Southwark, Dacorum, Doncaster, and Gloucester. The tools will cover householder application processing and automated policy constraint checking, with all code to be published under an MIT licence on GitHub.
