Maidstone Borough Council Adopts LibreOffice Following Microsoft 365 Cost Review

/

Maidstone Borough Council in Kent has announced a phased rollout of LibreOffice across approximately 800 staff desktops following a cost review that identified Microsoft 365 licensing as unsustainable under current local authority funding pressures. The Document Foundation will provide enterprise support via a third-party UK reseller. The migration is scheduled to complete by April 2026, ahead of the council's next budget cycle.
