The Linux Foundation has announced a new Built Environment Working Group tasked with developing open standards and reference implementations for BIM data interoperability. Founding members include Autodesk, Bentley Systems, and open source IFC toolkit maintainer IfcOpenShell. The group will focus on cloud-native IFC streaming and align with the UK's emerging golden thread data requirements under the Building Safety Act 2022.
