Leeds City Council has completed a phased migration of its development management back-office systems to an open source stack centred on PostgreSQL and a customised instance of the Open Planning Platform. The move, delivered in partnership with Digi2al, is expected to save the authority approximately £340,000 over five years in licensing costs. Council officials stated the new system also improves interoperability with the Planning Data platform maintained by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
