Homes England Explores OpenStreetMap Data to Accelerate Housing Delivery Mapping

Homes England has begun a feasibility study into replacing proprietary mapping licences with OpenStreetMap and GeoServer-based infrastructure for its housing delivery monitoring dashboards. The agency estimates potential savings of over £400,000 annually in Ordnance Survey data licensing costs. The project is being delivered in partnership with the Open Data Institute and is expected to report findings by Q3 2025.
