Common Place Adopts PostGIS Backend for Bristol Planning Engagement Platform

/

Planning engagement platform Commonplace has announced a migration to a PostGIS-backed spatial database infrastructure to support its work with Bristol City Council on the Temple Quarter regeneration project. The move replaces a proprietary spatial layer and is expected to reduce licensing costs while improving query performance on large public consultation datasets. Bristol's planning team cited better auditability of spatial data processing as a key factor in the decision.
