Bristol City Council has launched a six-month pilot of Nextcloud Hub as a self-hosted alternative to Microsoft SharePoint for internal document collaboration. The pilot covers the planning and regeneration directorate and is being evaluated against criteria including data sovereignty, integration with the council's existing Active Directory, and total cost of ownership. Results are expected to inform a broader procurement review in early 2025.
