A survey by the Architects Journal has found that nearly one in five UK architecture practices now use Blender for client visualisation and animation work, up from under five percent three years ago. Firms including Haworth Tompkins and Assemble cite the elimination of V-Ray and 3ds Max subscription costs as a key factor, alongside Blender's rapidly improving architecture-focused plugins such as BlenderBIM. The open source tool is increasingly being used alongside IFC-based BIM workflows rather than as a standalone rendering solution.
