Bristol City Council has deployed a self-hosted instance of LimeSurvey to manage public consultation exercises following concerns about data residency under Microsoft's commercial terms. The council's digital team cited GDPR compliance and cost savings of approximately £40,000 per year as primary drivers. The deployment is hosted on the council's on-premises infrastructure and is now live for the Bristol Local Plan review and several neighbourhood planning consultations.
