Leeds City Council has awarded a three-year managed services contract to Canopy Cloud for a sovereign productivity stack based on Nextcloud Hub and Collabora Online, replacing a subset of Microsoft 365 workloads across planning and development services. The contract, valued at £1.2 million, is believed to be one of the largest Nextcloud deployments in UK local government to date. Council officers cited data sovereignty, auditability, and long-term cost predictability as decisive factors.
