The OpenStreetMap Foundation has announced a collaborative research initiative with Ordnance Survey to explore the use of community-sourced geospatial data in urban digital twin projects. The pilot will focus on three English cities — Bristol, Sheffield, and Milton Keynes — with local authorities contributing planning data to enrich OSM datasets. The project is backed by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
