Autodesk has announced a series of upstream contributions to IfcOpenShell, the widely used open source IFC geometry processing library, focusing on improved handling of IFC4x3 alignment data for infrastructure projects. The contributions follow growing adoption of IfcOpenShell among UK contractor firms including Mace and Laing O'Rourke for model validation pipelines. buildingSMART International welcomed the move as a sign of growing industry commitment to open standards.
