The IfcOpenShell project has released version 0.8, introducing substantially improved support for IFC4 geometry processing and a new Python API for automated model validation. The update has been welcomed by the UK BIM Framework community, with several tier-one contractors including Mace and Laing O'Rourke confirming integration into their OpenBIM toolchains. The release also improves interoperability with FreeCAD and Blender BIM Add-on workflows.
