Surrey County Council has completed a migration of its revenues and benefits document management workflows onto a self-hosted Nextcloud instance, replacing an ageing OpenText system. The project, delivered in partnership with local authority IT cooperative Socitm Advisory, took eight months and is projected to save the council £180,000 per year in licensing fees. Surrey's digital team has published its configuration and integration scripts under an MIT licence on GitHub for other councils to reuse.
