The QGIS project has released version 3.38, featuring significantly improved handling of British National Grid coordinate reference systems, benefiting UK local authorities and planning departments. Ordnance Survey has acknowledged the update as reducing friction when integrating OS MasterMap data into open source workflows. Several London boroughs trialling QGIS as a replacement for Esri ArcGIS licences have welcomed the fix.
