The QGIS project has released version 3.38, introducing native support for Ordnance Survey's NGD (National Geographic Database) API, allowing planners and GIS teams to stream live OS data directly into projects. Several UK local authorities, including Leeds City Council and Bristol City Council, have already confirmed migration from ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, citing significant licensing cost reductions. The OSGeo UK chapter is coordinating a series of webinars to support the transition.
