The Welsh Government has announced that PlanX, its open source digital planning service developed in partnership with OpenSystems Lab, will now integrate OpenStreetMap base data for smaller local planning authorities. Powys and Ceredigion County Councils are among the first to pilot the updated system. The move reduces dependency on commercial mapping licences under the Ordnance Survey Public Sector Mapping Agreement.
