A new report from the OSGeo UK chapter shows a 47 percent increase in verified contributions to OpenStreetMap from UK local planning authorities over the past year, driven by updated guidance on public sector data sharing and the OS OpenData licence. Authorities including South Cambridgeshire District Council and Exeter City Council have established formal workflows to push planning decision boundary data into OSM following approval. The initiative is seen as complementary to the Planning Data platform operated by the Planning Inspectorate.
