Gloucestershire County Council Migrates Highways Asset Management to OpenStreetMap-Based Platform

/

Gloucestershire County Council has completed a phased migration of its highways asset management system to an open source stack built around PostGIS, OpenLayers, and OpenStreetMap data. The project, delivered in partnership with Leicestershire-based consultancy Astun Technology, is expected to save the authority approximately £180,000 annually in proprietary licensing costs. The council has committed to publishing its codebase on GitHub under an MIT licence to support other highway authorities considering similar transitions.
