BlenderBIM, the open source IFC-native BIM authoring tool built on Blender, is seeing accelerating adoption among small and mid-sized UK architecture practices seeking alternatives to Autodesk Revit amid subscription cost increases. London-based practice Haworth Tompkins and Glasgow firm Collective Architecture have both publicly confirmed active project use. The IfcOpenShell development community reports a 40 percent year-on-year increase in active contributors, with UK developers now representing the second largest national group.
