BlenderBIM, the open source IFC-native BIM authoring tool built on Blender, is seeing growing adoption among small and mid-sized UK architectural practices looking to escape Autodesk Revit subscription costs. The Open Source BIM Collective reports a 40 percent increase in active UK contributors over the past twelve months, with practices including Civic Engineers and Stirling Prize-nominated Haworth Tompkins trialling the platform on live projects. The tool's full support for the IFC4 standard is seen as a key advantage for public sector procurement compliance.
